Age Discrimination
In 1967, Congress enacted the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) that makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against workers who are over the age of 40. Employers who have 20 or more employees are subject to ADEA. ADEA is intended to prohibit discrimination in employment on the basis of age.
This would include failing to hire or promote a worker because of his/her age, terminating an employee because of his/her age, denying benefits on the basis of age and other similar practices. If you have been discriminated against in your employment because of your age, please fill out our Free Case Evaluation Form.
