Latest News
 What is VIOXX®?
VIOXX® is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that was used for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and menstruation. Between 1999 and 2004, VIOXX® had been prescribed to approximately 20 million Americans. VIOXX® was manufactured by Merck, a New Jersey-based pharmaceutical company.

Why was VIOXX® removed from the Market?
In September, 2004, the manufacturer of Vioxx® removed VIOXX® from the market after research data demonstrated that it increased the risk of heart attack, stroke and developing blood clots. There were earlier studies that demonstrated the association between VIOXX® and serious cardiac events but Merck, the manufacturer of VIOXX®, disputed the results of those studies.

If I’m currently taking VIOXX®, what should I do?
